Flite is a specialized, mobile-first digital logbook built to modernize the way air balloon pilots track their flights. By transitioning from traditional paper logbooks to a unified digital environment, Flite provides pilots with easy, always-on access to their flight records.
This mobile-centric approach was essential for ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience directly in the field. This project was also a significant milestone for me, as it was my first time working in a truly multi-disciplinary team. Comprising six members with specialized roles in Software Management, System and Network Management, and Development, it was the largest team I had collaborated with. Our goal was to deliver a production-ready application backed by professional project management in Jira, rigorous testing, and robust CI/CD practices.

The project leveraged a modern tech stack centered around Angular and Firebase. We used the Firebase Emulator Suite extensively for local development and testing, ensuring a reliable environment before deployment. The architecture was designed to be scalable and performant, with a focus on real-time data synchronization.

To ensure a structured and reliable development process, we implemented a Gitflow workflow.
This was supported by two live environments: a Development environment tied to the development branch for continuous integration of new features, and a Production environment strictly tied to the main branch for stable, verified releases.
Quality assurance was a core component of our development process. We implemented a comprehensive testing strategy including Jasmine/Karma for unit tests and Cypress for end-to-end testing. Our CI/CD pipeline automated the validation, testing, and deployment stages, integrating SonarQube to maintain high code quality and security standards.
This project wouldn't have been possible without the guidance and support of our dedicated mentors and coaches. A special thank you to:
